The Landis Is Back Open Under State Covid Mandates
The National Independent Venues Association (NIVA) has started the #Saveourstages Campaign to help save theaters and venues like ours around the world. Click here to read the full article about NIVA's letter to Congress signed by 600 artists in the effort to convince them to support small venues.
In preparation for outdoor shows we painted the back wall. 8 car garages worth of paint later and it looked brand new!
Covid-19 has hit small businesses extremely hard. Senator Mike Testa visited The Landis as one of his stops to see how Covid-19 has truly destroyed businesses.
Our first outdoor show was a stage play titled "Three OG's." The play was a free show to support black theater and was written by Derrell Williams of The Lawrence Theater Company.

Due to Covid-19 mandates, we had to have certain bathroom requirements in order to have our outdoor show. Port-a-potties were not allowed, so we had to flip our nearest bathroom in just 24 hours. No problem though!

Opening in 1937, The Landis Theater was beyond its time. Two unique features set it apart from the rest.
The Landis has transformed throughout the years. It first opened as a movie theater and we cannot wait to bring back those roots stronger than ever!
